Bykowski Equipment Co. was founded by the Bykowski brothers — and when Rick Largarticha bought the company, he didn't just keep the name. He built the engineering side into something worth carrying forward. Today, his sons Brian, Michael, and Randy lead the company together, bringing a second generation of hands-on technical leadership to every project. Three brothers. One standard.

This isn't a business we run from a distance. We know the systems we sell. We know the plants we service. We know what happens when a heat exchanger misses temperature, when a pump cavitates mid-batch, or when a CIP sequence doesn't fully clean the line. We've been on those floors. That's not a sales line — it's the foundation everything else is built on.

What We Do

We design, engineer, program, install, and service complete liquid processing systems for food plants. Mixing equipment, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam systems, chillers, boilers — we spec them as a matched system, not a collection of parts from separate vendors. Then we program the process logic, commission the plant, and stay in it long after the keys are handed over.

We also service existing systems we didn't build, and we supply equipment and MRO parts to food plants nationwide. If your plant is running a liquid processing line, we can support it.

How We Think About the Work

A dressings plant isn't a sauce plant isn't a dairy plant. The product being made — its viscosity, shear tolerance, temperature sensitivity, sanitation requirements — determines every component in the system. Generic solutions fail because food processing isn't generic. We build to what the customer is actually trying to make.

When you spec mixing equipment from one vendor, pumps from another, and heat exchangers from a third, and then try to get them to operate as one process — gaps appear. We close those gaps by designing the full system, matching components to each other, and writing control logic that reflects how the plant actually runs.

What We Stand For

Everything we build has our name on it. That's not a branding statement — it's a standard. The pump has to move the product. The temperature has to hit. The system has to run. We don't value-engineer quality out of a system to save money on a component, and we don't sign off on work we aren't confident in.

We tell customers what we see, even when it's not what they want to hear. We follow through on what we commit to. And when something goes wrong — which happens in this industry — we say so early and fix it. The trust this company has built over decades is a function of showing up and doing the work, consistently, over time.

That's what Bykowski means. That's what we're here to protect.
